Gioia ( JH -OY-aa ) means Joy, Delight!

We seek to work in cooperation with mission communities to bring the tools of artmaking to the children and youth served by missions. A profound experience of inner joy flows from art-making. GioiaARTS believes this joy comes from a greater connectedness with God experienced when we, in our simple humanity, introduce a created artwork to the world: when we get messy and make stuff.  The experience and challenge of executing an art project have compounding results in the development of a child. The transformative process of making art is intrinsically linked with multiple life-building skills.  Visual Arts activities encourage self-esteem, self-expression, non-verbal expression, constructive and critical thinking, and the mastery of new skills.  Art activities also foster hope, imagination, and courage in a child; attributes critical to building a bright future.  Our goal is to facilitate the joy that flows from the human activity of creating art: an activity that brings the human family into a closer relationship with each other and with our Creator.
